NOS 1950s WWII M3 M5 Stuart Light Tank Auxiliary Generator Piston + Original Box

New Old Stock (NOS) piston from the Rock Island Arsenal dated 1955. This piston is an original component used in the Auxiliary Engine Generators of WWII G103 M3 M5 Stuart Light Tanks. These auxiliary generators featured a 6-pole design, powered by a robust single-cylinder, 4-cycle, air-cooled gasoline engine. This engine delivered 1.6 horsepower at 2,300 RPM, with a bore and stroke of 2.3125" and 2.25" respectively.

The piston itself measures 2-1/4 inches in diameter and 2-3/8 inches in height, and weighs 8 oz including the piston pin. It comes complete with (3) piston rings, piston pin, and is housed in its original box (tank not included), preserving its historical value. The piston is constructed from Vanasil aluminum alloy, known for its strength and durability.

Piston has been meticulously cleaned of all grease and glass blasted to restore its original finish. The removable piston pin has been polished to a mirror finish.
